When will new cards be available?
The library will receive these new cards in mid-April, hopefully just in time for National Library Week (April 19-April 25). If you are signing up for a brand new card or renewing a recently expired card, you can get one of these new versions for free!
Want a new card early?
If you'd like to replace your old card with a new one before your renewal, there would be a $2 charge. FYI: This will also mean that your account will be assigned a new library card number. Your PIN will stay the same. Attn: Hoopla/Libby/Kanopy users: if you attain one of our new library cards (and thus a new number), you'll have to update your accounts in those apps.
How to update your library card numbers in Hoopla/Libby/Kanopy:
Updating your card number on Hoopla and Kanopy will not affect your checkouts/watchlist.
Regarding updating your card on LIBBY...
If you update your library card number on LIBBY
- You can continue reading any titles you already have checked out until the return date as long as you haven’t deleted the old card.
- Any tags (lists) you have saved will remain unaffected.
Regarding Holds / Partner Libraries
- Once you switch to the new card number, you will no longer be able to check out the holds on the old card. You will have to place a new hold with the new card.
- You WILL need to re-add any partner libraries under the new card and delete the old one (for each partner library).
- Anything you currently have checked out on the old card will be removed when the old card is deleted.
The provided instructions on Libby can show you how to reconnect to your preferred partner libraries.
