Ferndale, we are humbled and grateful: both library millages on yesterday's ballot have passed!
Thank you!! Your support keeps this library strong and responsive in its daily services and ensures that the building's physical space, as a resource, will remain vibrant and welcoming to everyone in our community!
The approval of Ferndale voters allows our dedicated staff (and our accessible spaces) to continue to shine for you in all the ways you expect, in all the ways you've continually relied on, and in ways you can't even see yet, but will very soon!
Now that the millages have passed...
The library can enhance the convenience of its daily support services by adding card readers to enable quicker payments for printing, faxing, scanning, and more. (Coming Soon)
We can finally replace aging carpeting, with some squares having begun to peel, creating a walking hazard. (2028->).
We can move forward with repairs to our 2010 HVAC system to resolve temperature inconsistencies that have affected our study rooms and other spaces over the past three years. These necessary updates will allow us to restore consistent climate control, continue to keep the library's energy consumption low and eco-friendly, and maintain a comfortable environment for everyone using the facilities.
Meanwhile, we will be able to maintain the frequency and quality of the free programs we offer each week, continuing to respond directly to community needs. This ensures uninterrupted continuity for all our signature events:
- Arts & Culture: Craft nights, concerts, art exhibitions, and film screenings.
- Learning & Discussion: Book clubs, lectures, educational presentations, and film discussions.
- Community Connection: Gardening expos, group art shows, Summer Reading Challenges, Tiny Art!
