Theme:
"Spring"  

Work Media:
Original 2-D/3-D paintings/prints, photography, mixed media  |  Framed and wired or with hooks (d-ring, sawtooth, etc)
Sculptures must be shorter than 18” tall, otherwise no free-standing pieces
Submitted pieces can be older works if they fit the theme

Work Size:
Max width: 48” (or smaller)  |  Max height: 48” (or smaller)

Timeline:
April 8 - May 19, 2024

Entries Due:

Selection Process:
The Ferndale Library’s Art & Exhibitions Committee will review submissions and vote. Any artist not selected will be kept on a waiting list for future chances to show for 12 months after the submission deadline.

Notification to the artist:
Any/all artists who submit will hear back from the library’s Art & Exhibitions Committee by February 1, 2024, via email (or phone).

Accepted Artwork:
…will be installed by the library’s Art & Exhibitions Committee

Delivery:
…accepted pieces should be delivered to the Ferndale Library during its open hours, starting as early as Monday, April 8 and no later than Saturday, April 13, 2024

Proposed Reception Date:
Thursday, April 25 | 6pm-8pm 

Exhibit or Event Ends:
May 12, 2024

Pickup Artwork by or before:
May 19, 2024 

Sales: Art can be priced to sell, with an encouraged 20% commission returned to the library as a donation. Any patron inquiring about purchases will be put in touch directly with the artist.

The Art and Exhibitions Committee’s mission is to promote and foster an appreciation of two and three-dimensional art for library patrons, through exhibits, lectures, and an expanded collection of art books.

Call for Proposals

The committee invites artists to submit proposals for exhibitions of their work. The library has two primary display areas: the Meeting room/Atrium areas; and The Corridor Gallery. Pertinent documents can be downloaded from the links below. Please read these carefully before submitting a proposal.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All artists submitting work must download and fill out the application form below.
  • Artists are encouraged to read all the documents before submitting an application, whether for the library’s group show, or for a future solo exhibition.
  • The agreement is only filled out and signed upon acceptance of the artist’s work for exhibition.
