Discussing: The Farewell (2019)
Just like a book club, only for MOVIES. Join the conversation. Watch the film ahead of time (or, if you've already seen it, plan to rewatch it), and then join us at the Ferndale Library and meet/chat with other film buffs while we watch a few key clips from the film. We'll even have some snacks!
On May 13, we'll discuss the award-winning family-dramedy, The Farewell, written and directed by Lulu Wang and starring Awkwafina. A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decides to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies.

Storytime will be indoors in the library's Program Room.
Each scheduled Family Storytime will start at 10:30 am
To save a spot for storytime please follow the steps below the day of the event:
- Stop by the Atrium (West Entrance) to receive a ticket. Tickets will be available starting 15 minutes before storytime begins (10:15 AM).
- Tickets will be handed out until 5 minutes after the scheduled start time (10:35 AM).
- The youth librarian leading the storytime will collect the tickets upon entry to the program.
- Once tickets run out, storytime is full. Please check back at a future storytime.

Join the Science Fiction Book Club! This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, and you can attend either in person or virtually via Zoom.
This book club reads & discusses a wide variety of titles that fit into the realm of science fiction, from hard/soft sci-fi and space operas to speculative fiction and dystopic futures, as well as cyberpunk and steampunk, and anything in between...
We'll meet on Wednesday, MAY 14, to discuss Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Ayoki.

Baby Storytime will be on Fridays at 10:30 AM! Check below for exact dates.
Join us for interactive songs and simple stories that nurture your baby's curiosity and fine motor skills while providing a place for caregivers to share ideas and socialize. For families with children under 18 months old.*
*It is the youth department's continued mission to offer early literacy programs that best fit children's different developmental stages. Baby Storytime will be for babies under 18 months and Family Storytime will be for young children ages 18 months-4 years old.

Craft Program for ages 2-6 (+Caregivers)
Toddlers and caregivers can work together to make a spring collage using contact paper and a variety of textured and colorful supplies.

Try out new board games at the library! We provide the games and explain the rules, so you can have fun playing.
Board Game Club (for ages 18+) is designed to be a fun place for gamers of all skill levels to find a sense of community, enjoying a variety of games together in a cozy environment.

Join our Graphic Novel Book Club! We'll be meeting AT DRIFTER COFFEE on Tuesday, MAY 20 at 6:30 pm to discuss DUNE: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
This book club, for ages 18+, will now be hosted at Drifter Coffee at 770 Woodward Hts. This is an after-hours event for Drifter, and their beverage bar will be open for Book Club attendees, but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
