Zine Kits are a fun and engaging craft kit activity for ages 5+.

Unleash your creativity and craft your own zines at home with our supplies and scrap paper. Plus, you have the exciting opportunity to contribute your completed zine to our library's circulating collection!

These kits will be available periodically throughout the year, in January, June, and September.

The next batch of ZINE KITS will be available starting Tuesday, September 2nd 📅

FYI: Kits will be available for pick-up next to the Zine Collection in the Kids Corner; limit one per person, please!

Interested in solving puzzles? Like having fun adventures with friends? Want to be a Pokémon? You should join our Tabletop RPG Group!

This group is for grades 6-8, meeting twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays.

Our next RGP Group Meeting will be on Thursday, September 4 at 6:00 pm.

Join us for interactive songs and simple stories that nurture your baby's curiosity and fine motor skills while providing a place for caregivers to share ideas and socialize. For families with children under 18 months old.*
*It is the youth department's continued mission to offer early literacy programs that best fit children's different developmental stages. Baby Storytime will be for babies under 18 months and Family Storytime will be for young children ages 18 months-4 years old.

Storytime will be indoors in the library's Program Room.
Each scheduled Baby Storytime begins at 10:30 am

To save a spot for storytime please follow the steps below the day of the event:

• Stop by the Atrium (West Entrance) to receive a ticket. Tickets will be available starting 15 minutes before storytime begins (10:15 AM).
• Tickets will be handed out until 5 minutes after the scheduled start time (10:35 AM).
• The youth librarian leading the storytime will collect the tickets upon entry to the program.
• Once tickets run out, storytime is full. Please check back at a future storytime.

Join us for a fun library clothing swap for all ages on Saturday, September 6, between 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Participants are limited to 1-3 items of clean, in good condition clothing. Registration is required.

Note: Clothing must be laundered and repaired; we will not be accepting undergarments, socks, or shoes.

Pre-registered patrons: 
1.) Drop off your items at the reference desk anytime during library hours between Sat. Aug 30th to Thurs, Sept.  4th
Note: The library is closed on Aug 31 & Sept 1 for Labor Day
2.) You'll receive one clothing ticket for each item you donate
3.) Tickets can be used for any clothing during the swap on Sept. 6th

Please register individually & fill out our form to let us know how many items you intend to bring!

Motor Om Yoga hosts a monthly community yoga class at the Ferndale Library on the first Sunday of each month; free and open to all skill levels; registration is required. Registration required; space is limited.

Our next Yoga class will be on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 at 10 am, held OUTDOORS (weather permitting) in the library's courtyard. Moving indoors, in case of rain. 

Motor Om is a non-profit, mobile yoga studio that will bring everything you need in a studio out into the community spaces (such as the library.)

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of an all-time classic and a quintessentially 90's-movie: Clueless!

Ages 18+ can join us for a special after-hours event on Friday, September 12, beginning at 6:30 pm

We'll have: Pizza - Pop - Snacks - Activities

And 90s-themed clothing is strongly encouraged!

Our monthly Sunday Songwriters Series starts back up for the Fall on Sunday, September 14, at 2:00 pm, with a special Songwriters In The Round-styled performance featuring Tom Alter, Anthony Retka, and Emily Rose!

These free, all-ages concerts are hosted on the 2nd Sunday of each month, starting at 2:00 pm; sponsored by the Friends of the Ferndale Library!
